Worrywart
Waiting is often clouded with worry. Unless we resist, our focus is turned directly on temporal provision rather than the eternal things of the Kingdom of God. That makes worry a rather powerful tool of the enemy that often sneaks beneath our spiritual radar.
Good For You!
May the only thing we cling tightly to be our relationship with our God. If we get that right everything else will fall into place.
When You Know You Know
At times the wrong part of the process trips us up. We are looking at deciding between two things and we actually would like to have both. Like a stubborn child we cling to what we know, what we are comfortable with while wanting the freedom and excitement that comes with letting go.
Who Me?
Knowledge without application is worse than useless. It removes our excuses and increases our responsibility. When we know better but refuse to do better our footing is quite unstable.
Favor-ite
Unlike the politician attempting to secure a vote, the favor of God is given with only the desire that we set our hearts on him. He isn’t putting on an act or trying to placate us. Rather than attempting to please us the favor of God is designed to mature us.
A Helpful Hindrance
It is in times of fear and desperation that we often find ourselves standing in the way of the plan of the Lord. We might be trying to help. Perhaps we are attempting to fix something we messed up, or turn things around.
When I Am The One
Perhaps we have decided God is taking a little bit too long to answer our cries and he needs our assistance. Our attempts to “help him along” often backfire and we realize, although our intentions were pure, we have wandered from the safety of the sheepfold.
Today’s Special
There is a danger in being surrounded by all things Christian that can sneak up on us when we least expect it. That danger comes when we are immersed in a godly culture but we are failing to make the necessary practical application.
I Will
We often give ourselves far more credit for maintaining our balance than we deserve. As we face our struggles, our Heavenly Father is the one holding tight to our hand. He is keeping us from falling.
My Allowance Please
We are called to a deliberate, intentional, conscious effort to remain united with others in the body of Christ.
Some Time Later
If we truly want to know God, to be a friend of God, like Abraham, we will face the “Some time later” test of our faith. This test demands an obedient sacrifice that will almost certainly proceed the revelation of the blessing.
